Battery drains in 1–2 hours
A healthy MacBook should last 8–12 hours. If yours dies within a couple of hours, the cells have lost most of their capacity.
«Service Recommended» warning
macOS shows this alert in the battery menu when the battery has dropped below 80% of its original capacity. Time to replace.
MacBook only works plugged in
If the Mac shuts down immediately when unplugged, the battery can no longer hold any charge and has reached end of life.
Swollen or bulging battery
A swollen battery pushes the trackpad up from inside the case. This is a safety issue — stop using the Mac and bring it in immediately.

17 agosto, 2026Escribo esta reseña casi dos semanas después de mi visita a este servicio, y aunque mi opinión podría cambiar más adelante, esto es lo que pienso hasta ahora. Toda mi experiencia previa con centros de servicio no autorizados de Apple había sido negativa: retrasos, comunicación poco transparente y, muchas veces, el dispositivo volvía en peor estado del que tenía, después de haber gastado dinero. Llegué a ReciclaTecnologia un par de horas después de derramar una copa entera de espresso tónico sobre mi MacBook Air M5 de 15 pulgadas nuevo, de la empresa - literalmente empapé todo el portátil, no con agua sino con una bebida con gas. Lamentablemente, los servicios oficiales de Apple no hacen limpieza local en estos casos y directamente proponen sustituir todo el topcase (la parte con teclado y batería), lo que suele costar desde 500 euros, especialmente en los modelos más nuevos. Por eso acudí a ellos para una limpieza ultrasónica y extracción de líquido. Una hora después de contactarlos ya me habían enviado fotos por WhatsApp del portátil desmontado mostrando el estado actual, y durante los 3 días que duró la reparación la comunicación fue rápida y constante. Eso sí, me advirtieron desde el principio que, aunque llevé el portátil casi de inmediato, había entrado mucho líquido y era posible que algunos componentes no volvieran a funcionar tras la limpieza. Lamentablemente el trackpad resultó dañado y hubo que sustituirlo, cosa que hicieron sin problema. Resumen: * Limpieza ultrasónica - 100 euros * Sustitución del trackpad por uno original de un equipo donante - 85 euros * Duración total del trabajo - 3 días * Comunicación transparente y rápida * 3 años de garantía en el trabajo realizado (¿alguien ha visto algo así en algún otro sitio?) Casi dos semanas después no he notado ningún cambio en el funcionamiento de mi MacBook, y espero no notarlo en el futuro. Sin duda fue una muy buena experiencia para tratarse de un servicio no autorizado, y pienso volver a acudir a ellos en el futuro. Considero que se merecen 5 estrellas y espero que mi opinión no cambie.

Does replacing the MacBook battery affect my data?
No. Battery replacement is a hardware procedure that does not touch your storage or software. Your data, apps and settings remain completely intact. We always recommend having a current backup as good practice for any hardware service.
My MacBook battery is swollen — is it safe to use?
No. A swollen battery is a safety risk — the expanding lithium-polymer cells can damage the display, trackpad and logic board, and in rare cases can vent or ignite. Stop using the Mac, do not attempt to charge it, and bring it in as soon as possible. We prioritise swollen battery cases.
Can you replace the battery on the latest MacBook Pro M4?
Yes. We replace batteries on the 2024 MacBook Pro M4 in both 14″ and 16″ sizes. The M4 Pro uses a glued battery that requires specialist tools and experience — it is the same process we use for all modern MacBook battery replacements.
My MacBook shows «Service Recommended» — does that mean I need a new battery?
It means the battery has dropped below 80% of its original design capacity, which triggers the macOS warning. In practice, you will notice significantly reduced battery life. Replacement at this point is recommended to restore original performance and prevent unexpected shutdowns.
What warranty does the MacBook battery replacement come with?
All battery replacements at ReciclaTecnologia include a 3-year warranty covering both the new battery and the labour. If the battery fails or shows any issue related to our work within 36 months, we replace it at no charge. Apple’s battery service provides 6 months of coverage, per its own repair terms.
