Why MacBook trackpads misbehave
A worn-out trackpad mechanism, a loose ribbon cable, liquid residue, or — very commonly — a swelling battery pushing against the underside of the pad. We diagnose which it is before quoting, because the fix and the price are very different.

My trackpad clicks by itself — what causes that?
Nine times out of ten it’s a swelling battery underneath. We check that first; it’s a safety issue too.
Can I just use an external mouse instead?
You can as a stopgap, but if a battery is swelling it needs attention regardless. We’ll advise honestly.
How long does it take?
Diagnosis is same-day; repair time depends on whether it’s the pad, the cable or the battery.
